LLI membership is open to all curious adults 50 and older. There are no prerequisites, educational or otherwise, for membership— only a desire to join others in intellectual exploration. The people, courses, stimulating discussions, events, and special access to university resources all add up to a fun and rewarding experience.
Membership Benefits:
- Eligibility to register for a wide variety of unique classes held at convenient and accessible locations at Virginia Tech and around the NRV community, and online.
- Access to special events, tours, and talks, highlighting the New River Valley, the arts, and the latest initiatives happening on campuses in the region.
- Free online webinars on a variety of topics.
- Social events to make and grow friendships in our community.
Fees
You must be a member to register for courses and to attend member events. Fall and Spring term membership is $60 per term. Courses, special events, and field trips may have additional costs and will vary and are always noted in the course description. View a full list of LLI Fees and Policies.

LLI is committed to accessible and affordable educational opportunities for NRV residents. Fee waivers are available for those that need them and can be requested by calling the LLI Program Coordinator at 540-231-1725. All requests are confidential.
